A tea steeping tank designed for kombucha brewing is an essential piece of equipment, especially for commercial-scale production or large batch brewing. This tank allows you to brew large volumes of tea efficiently, which is crucial for preparing the base liquid for kombucha fermentation.
This is the first stage of the kombucha-making process where the water is boiled. Black or green tea is sweetened and boiled together with sugar in tea steeping tank. After boiled certain time ,then cooling down mixture to room temperature either by heat plate exchanger or adding cooling water and then transferred to the kombucha 1st stage fermentation tank.
Our tea steeping tank is insulated and uses the whirlpool aspect of a beer-brewing kettle, which allows the hot water to get more contact time with the tea leaves as it passes through the suspended tea bags. The tea bags are able to hang from the manway of the vessel and steep as the hot liquor spins in the kettle.
